old gearbox questions 1951-52

Beitrag von 883yan »

Hello.

I am rebuilding a gearbox for a 1952 model. Gearbox #11196. The shifting forks are broken (one tooth broke off).
Here is my question.
It appears that I have the very early version of the shifting fork. Bild

According to this website http://www.awo-stammtisch.de/Serviceseite.htm, my parts are from the 1950-51 series.

I cant seem to find that part online for sale anywhere.

Now from looking at the part list documents I found online, it appears that a more recent part, #49141 used on the 1951-1954nmodels can be used with the addition of a spacer #41939.
This is the text from the part manual "Verwendbar ab Getriebe Nr. 12203. Bei
Ersatz unter Getriebe Nr. 12203 nur mit
Lagerflansch 41889/90 oder Abstandbuchse 41939 verwendbar."

Has anyone done this, replace an early part with that more recent fork with the spacer? Where does the spacer go exactly?
Thank you!
Yan

Update: I just figured out how to post pictures:)

This my broken part
All the parts I can see for sale online for the "hacker" gearbox look to like the 1951-54 on the other image.

Anyone knows where I could buy a set or original shifting fork like mine?
Or anyone knows where I could buy the spacer bush( Abstandbuchse) part #41939?

Thank you.

This Part is very rare, but you can replace it with the later Version in your picture right.
But when you replace it, you also have to replace the inner Part from Cover from the kickstarter spring.
I hope you can understand what I mean 🤔

Look here, i had also this Problem, hope you can see the difference.

Otherwise you can try to weld the broken Part or fix it with other method?

Thank you this makes perfect sense. I could either replace my fork with the 51-54 version if I also swap the bearing flange (Lagerflansch) with the part #41889.
It seems like, alternatively, I could keep my bearing flange and just replace the forks if I get an 11.5mm bushing.
Thank you very much for the information.

Hi Ralf.
That would be fantastic. It seem I can repair the gearbox with more recent parts but truthfully I would love to keep it as original as possible. So if you have the old version of the fork for sale, I'll buy it.
Thank you.

Hello Yan ,

I have spareparts for you. What do you need ? Only the fork in the red frame or the hole unit ?
