after finishing to rebuild my gearbox, I finally finished a complete tear-down of my engine. The camshaft was a real pain to remove as I do not have the special puller tool and could not find one for sale.
-I used a large screwdriver and hammer to drive out the first bearing from the inside.
-Then i used tire irons to pull out the camshaft by using it as a lever against the back bearing
-Then I removed the tappet so that the back bearing could be pulled out
-Lastly, and that was the easiest part, I used a blind bearing puller to get the inside bearing out
A lot of heat was used along the way from a heat gun.
I took photos along the way in case someone needs help doing the same.
More photos of the camshaft removal here.

Hallo,
in the first picture of that link you will find a real useful tool
viewtopic.php?f=34&t=1380
is was some years ago, but maybe our member Inge can show you the details of his design.
I was buying it and I can say that it made the job much more easier.
regards
Christoph

Re: Ausbau der Nockenwelle
Thanks Christoph.
I was actually looking to buy that same puller tool but couldn't find any for sale. Hopefully I never have to pull that camshaft out again! But it I do I might very well wait until I get one of these pullers.
