Elektrikgehäuse with weird holes

Hello everyone.
When I bought my bike, the seller included a few spare parts, an engine block and an electrical housing.

Interestingly, my electrical housing and the spare have the same markings inside. 425 06 07-1A. Yet they have a few puzzling differences.
Mine is on the right, the spare one on the left.

-The spare has a hole on the right side that connects with the crankcase venting.
-It also has two holes on the top.
-Lastly, it has a small screw in the bottom.

Anyone knows what this part is? I looked at a bunch of images of Elektrikgehäuse on line and I could not find one that looks like that.

The part on the left is edited. The holes at the top and bottom are not original.
The number 425 06 07-1A. Is the number of the casting pattern.

Hi Yan!

As Ekki mentioned before, your housing has been reworked. For me it looks like your housing does have the old crank case ventilation with the brass bushing. The opposite part is one piece with the camshaft gear. The left housing looks like the newer version with the steel bushing. The opposite part is a Pertinax wheel fitted to the camshaft gear. It would be good to get a picture of your cam gear.
If you do have the old version of the cam gear I would recommend to use the brass bushing, you can swap the bushings and use the spare part.

Ich denke die Löcher wurden gebohrt um den Zündmagneten Luft zu verschaffen weil die AWO immer stehengeblieben ist wenn der Motor gut warm war !

Yan trying to find out which E housing belongs to your engine block. E housing and block are a pair. Parts of other engines often do not fit properly and cause the crankshaft to break.
If the converted housing belongs to your block, it's worth repairing.

"Mine is on the right, the spare one on the left."........If the right belongs to your block, forget the left E housing !

Thanks everyone.

I will keep using my original housing, the right one. It has the brass bushing and fits nicely with the rest of the engine.
I was mostly curious about why someone would modify a housing like that. The holes on top for cooling make sense, I guess. I am still puzzled about that hole on the right side.
I am not sure what to do with that spare housing. I also have a spare engine block that came with it. I think I will put them on the Biete - Suche - Tausche section.
