Motor does not start

Hi folks, my second AWO Touren does not start.

I checked the spark plug, the plug cable and then fine-tuned the magnetto (0,4 mm space on the contact breaker, it starts to break just after strongest magnetic point, etc).

I even took the magnetto, the cable and the spark plug from my first AWO Touren (one that starts just fine) and installed them on my second AWO Touren.
The spark plug does produce a spark and everything looks fine but the engine does not start.
I poured a small amount of gasoline directly in the cylinder to see if the carburator was causing the problem by not supplying enough fuel or something.
Still no success - the gasolene that I poured in the cylinder did not ignite!
Hmmmmmmmmmm...
Sounds like a bad engine/magnetto synchronization to me.

My question is: when I am synchronizing the magnetto to the engine, is the -ZP- mark all that matters?
Or should I also watch out for the valves to be in a closed position as well?
If yes, how can I check if the valves are closed without having to remove the tank and the top covers on the cylinder head?

Thanks!

Hello

You have to walk through the kick start until you have compression. This is then the right ZP and OT.

^ Makes sense, thanks for the tip!

I did that and after 40-50 tries, the engine finally started but the new problem is that the engine accelerates by itself!
Starts slow then the RPM go through the roof. I was literally scared that the bike will explode.
I am using an AWO-Sport carburetor and I messed with the screw that regulates the RPM.
Maybe this is causing the whole problem.
Will keep tweaking it until it starts normally (say, after 2-3 kicks max) and without accelerating.
