Stripes color?

Hi folks, I just bought a new AWO-Touren bike.
The old man that I bought it from owns it for 53 years and he swears that the original paint was lined with two white stripes on the fenders and on the tank instead of one white and one gold stripe.
Could this be true?

Hallo,
I bought a tank with original paint some month ago also with both lines in white. I had never seen such a tank before. The saller said that the lines on the Fenders were also only in white. He also said that the bike was from 1955. Perhaps the paint for the thin stripes was gone and the workers had to do the job with the white colour until the new delivery came??? Who could know it exactly? You hav a very seldom bike! If possible you should not paint it new.

^ Thak you for the input.
Well, the original paint that was supposedly entirely done in white stripes is gone now.
The bike has been re-painted several times.
I was just curious about what the old man said about the original paint.
Now I have several AWO-T bikes and I want to know if the all-white stripes are an OK thing to do when the time comes to repaint them.

Has anyone else seen AWO-T bikes that had two white stripes instead of a white and a gold stripe?
